The Child Within

Portrait of mother daughter duo

Dance with the storm,
whirl in its form.
Roll with its spin,
Don’t fight it, within.

The child awakes,
She stomps, and she quakes.
She screams, and she scolds,
For heaven sake no!

He wants to fight back,
we are under attack.
A memory within,
Rolls down his chin.
Don’t give it away.
I want them to stay!

It’s raw, like a nerve!
It’s what you! Deserve!
There’s no other way!
Why can’t we just play?

And when all calms down,
take both sides of that frown,
Wipe the tears, from her eyes,
smile and Sigh.

I’m never leaving your side.

It’s ok, it’s ok,
I won’t go away.
No never, not ever,
I’m here and I’ll stay.

Give them a hug,
A smile, and a snug.
This is our dance,
an inner most glance.

Accept it and see,
It’s all, this is me.
It’s pure like a dove,
Accepting self love.
